Anta's Kung Fu Team competed at the oldest and most prestigious martial arts tournament in South Florida, the Caribbean and Latin America, the 33 Annual Pan American International Martial Arts championship on November 12, at the world famous Deauville Beach Resort in South Beach. Competitors from different martial arts styles such as Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, Kenpo, XMA (Xtreme Martial Arts), and Jiu Jitsu competed. They came from the United States and 7 other countries, England, Mexico, Bahamas, Guatemala, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and Honduras to compete for top honors in forms, weapons, and sparring. Manny Reyes Sr who operates the oldest martial arts school in South Florida has been hosting this tournament for 33 years. The Pan American International Martial Arts Championships is one of the largest, oldest and most prestigious tournament in the nation.
Team Anta representing Doral against competitors from different martial arts styles did extremely well. In the 6 and 7 year old forms division first, second and the third place winners were from Anta Kung Fu. Winning first place in this international championship was Diego Ordonez, 2nd place Tomas Arango and in third place Lucas Vargas.
