12 Tips to Keep You Safe From Coronavirus
We Are All In This Together
Anta’s Fitness and Self Defense is monitoring the CDC warnings against the Coronavirus. Like so many of you, we have spent the last few weeks learning about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it is impacting our world. For Anta’s Fitness and Self Defense, that means understanding how it affects our students and community, and then making the necessary adjustments to our operations to keep us all safe.
Anta’s Fitness and Self Defense is still open and active! We are taking a healthy approach to the coronavirus obstacle as I would with any of the thousands of obstacles that I’ve faced in my life.
Here is our newest update on how we will continue to try to keep our training center a Coronavirus FREE place.
Since the President declared a state of emergency in the USA and Miami-Dade County schools have suspended classes. We continue to have one simple objective that’s keeping you and our students safe. With that in mind, we have made several moves in our martial arts fitness training center in response to the threat of the coronavirus.
We are all in this together. Here are 12 tips that we are doing and that you can do also to stay safe and stop the spread of the coronavirus.
- We have ramped up cleaning services. We normally clean the school, mats and restrooms daily. A cleaning crew comes every other week to do a deep cleaning. Since last week we are cleaning and disinfecting the school 2 time a day.
- Student’s will not be having contact in class. They will be training separated with more distance between each other. We will not be working throws and ground fighting. Sparring will be light contact kickboxing. Punches and kicks only. No MMA sparring. Until we are back to normal. We are taking these precautions to avoid spreading the virus.
- Stay home if you, your child or any family member feels sick. Don’t worry we will credit you the classes you miss.
4. Our class size is less than 50 students. As per CDC gatherings of more than 50 people should be cancelled. We can only fit 25 to 30 students on our mat.
5. Washing hands and strengthening the immune system are our first line of defense against the coronavirus. So let's all wash our hands a lot. The best disinfectant is soap and water. Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water.
6. If you cough or sneeze, make sure you do it into your elbows, do fist bumps instead of hugs for a while but most importantly... let's be there for each other.
7. We are having online kids classes for students that are sick, have low immune system or family member at risk. These classes will be on Monday and Wednesday’s for Lil Dragons and Beginners Mixed Martial Arts Kids. For Intermediate Mixed Martial Arts Kids it will be on Tuesday and Thursday. it will be posted on our private group on Facebook Anta Martial Arts. It will stay on that page if you want to train on a different day or time. You will also find videos on techniques and the forms we are doing for our next testing period.
8. The most important precaution is keeping your immune system strong so it fights off the virus. There are lots of things you can take naturally now such as colloidal silver, zinc, anamu, echinacea, schisandra, vitamin D and moringa. I personally take moringa daily. I have not caught a cold or flu in 6 years since starting this ritual.
9. Go outside in the sun and get fresh air. This will strengthen you immune system.
10. Open the windows of you home to circulate air.
11. Hydrate, drink lots of water.
12. Don’t stress workout. Stressing out lowers our immune system. Working out will strengthen you immune system.
We are following what the CDC, doctors and scientist are recommending. When you stress and panic your immune system weakens. Those at most danger are the elderly and anyone with a low immune system. Yet, by no means take the coronavirus lightly.
But, just like with any virus, cold or flu we do not want to catch it or let it spread. As always cleanliness and your safety is a main objective in our training center. That is why we are taking precautions.
I feel we are facing a challenge but also an opportunity to come together in America and become the society that we can all be proud of.
Stay safe and see you in class. Working out strengthens your immune system and relieves stress. God Bless.
