The Next Generation and a new era of sports specific training is coming to Anta’s Fitness and Self Defense. Anta’s Fitness and Self Defense in conjunction with former Miami Dolphin off season and preseason strength and conditioning staff assistant Ron Melnik will bring you BURST, Core Strength and Conditioning program in 2007! In early 2007 we will offer this program at Anta’s Fitness and Self Defense to individuals in private classes, in groups and to colleges, high schools, middle school and park athletic programs. Coaches and athletes, now is your chance to gain an edge on your competition with BURST. BURST will include strength and conditioning techniques that will help take athletes to the next level. Whether you coach or you are in wrestling, football, basketball, soccer, martial arts or any sport for that matter, Burst will show you how to build or become faster, stronger, more powerful athlete.
Melnik and Anta designed Burst to assist the college, high school, middle school and even the Little League baseball, park football and soccer athlete to gain muscular strength and endurance. They called it BURST since you need bursting power and speed to excel in all sports. The program focuses on decreasing the chance for injury while developing the team to its' maximum physical potential. The program as designed does not emphasize any one muscle group over another and is very similar to the programs used by professional and university teams today. BURST is not a body specific workout as in today’s traditional gym workouts. The program is a functional athletic workout training your body as a whole. All muscles are given the same importance and are properly strengthened through a full range of motion. Strength training provides an important base for speed. Developing and strengthening the entire human musculature ensures that all muscles needed for speed, agility, acceleration, quickness, and reaction speed received adequate attention.
In today's athletics, the foundation of any athlete's success on the field, court, mat, ring, ice or in the water is their year round preparation. BURST’s philosophy is to strengthen and condition the athletes’ core. The strength, flexibility and athletic ability originate in the core of the human body. Since the great athletes’ posse great strength, power, and flexibility in the core, we place our emphasis on core training. Our emphasis is also on shoulder rotation, stability, strength and flexibility to enhance and prolong your athletic career. Our goal is to take that young kid, middle school, high school or college athlete go to the next level and achieve their total potential.
At Anta’s Fitness and Self Defense we have been taking our kung fu and XFT Fitness Kickboxing students through this type of workout using medicine ball, circuit training, obstacle course, interval training, calisthenics, Indian Clubs, kettlebells and plyometrics in order to enhance their athletic abilities and get in great shape. In return we have noticed great improvement in our students’ fitness and athletic abilities even when playing other sports. Our students excel in baseball, football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, Dragon Boat Racing, dance and numerous other team and individual sporting events. One of our success stories is Jon Paul Anta. This year J P excelled in martial arts competition, was on a soccer team, Dragon Boat Race Team, is currently playing Little League Baseball and is on the Miami Christian Basketball team.
In 2007 we will take our students to the next level of physical conditioning by using the BURST program in our classes. Burst was developed by personal trainer, former college football star and coach and Miami Dolphin strength coach Ron Melnik with the help of retired U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant, Personal Trainer, Kettlebell instructor and Kung Fu Master Julio Anta. Ron will also be available for private sport specific one on one training at Anta’s Fitness and Self Defense. Whether you want to excel as an athlete or just look and train like an athlete BURST is the answer.
