Today I finally saw the movie "Facing the Giants" with my 2 sons. This was the most inspiring movie that I've seen in a long time. I was trying to see this movie since it's premier, yet to no avail since it had not been released in Miami. This week at a meeting for The God of Moses Entertainment production "The 40 Days" Emmy Award winning producer Norton Rodriguez was praising "Facing the Giants. He was talking about how the Lord is opening doors in Hollywood. Norton also explained how 9 out of 10 Hollywood movies lose money and how "Facing the Giants" costing only $100,000 has made millions. Later at lunch I asked him where he saw the movie since I could not find it. To my surprise it was playing at the Regal in Kendal.
"Facing the Giants" is a true Rocky story and a miracle in its self. Not just the script but also how it was conceived and the success of the movie. The congregation of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia donated the $100,000 to film and produce the film. The film stars were actual members of the church and high school students.
The story is about Grant Taylor who in 6 years of coaching has never had a winning season. After losing their first three games of the season, the coach discovers a group of fathers are plotting to have him fired. Combined with pressures at home, Coach Taylor has lost hope in his battle against fear and failure. However, an unexpected challenge helps him find a purpose bigger than just victories. Daring to trust God to do the impossible, Coach Taylor and the Eagles discover how faith plays out on the field … and off. He tells his players and strongly believes that "With God, all things are possible."
In life I've notice that before a great blessing and victory from God comes we face many tribulations and attacks not just by Satan but also by other people. This movie hit it right on the nail and shows you that if you believe in God and never give you will achieve your goals. This is an awesome old fashion, inspirational Christian movie great for the entire family. This is a must see movie and I strongly recommend it.
